Album

Tin Machine is the debut album by Anglo-American hard rock band Tin Machine. It was originally released in May 1989, on the label EMI. The band was the latest venture of David Bowie, inspired by sessions with guitarist Reeves Gabrels. Drummer Hunt Sales and bassist Tony Fox Sales formed the rest of the band, with fifth member Kevin Armstrong providing rhythm guitar and Hammond organ. Tin Machine. More from this Artist. A remarkable recording for many reasons, the debut of Tin Machine predates by nearly half a decade much of the guitar-oriented alternative pop that followed the grunge explosion of 1991-1992. This does not sound like Bowie in a band missing are the quirkiness and theatrics that characterize much of Bowie's solo work. Tin Machine Format: Audio CD. It is what it is, a live recording of the band in Japan in 1992. It is well recorded, crystal clear sound in fact, so that is a bonus as sometimes live recordings are a bit muddy and there are a mass of bootlegged albums on the market blatantly being sold and the recording quality is terrible. Tin Machine have always been a bit 'Marmite', but I personally like them and understood the need for Bowie to re-discover his creative streak at the time. The recording is of a very high standard and the band is on explosive form delivering a high-energy set. Group Compilation.
